Si hay un tema delicado de ilustrar ese es el aborto. Desde el momento en que leí el artículo me planteé que la imagen debería ser aséptica en el sentido de no caer en un "aborto si" o "aborto no", y que, con toda seguridad, cuando una mujer embarazada a tomado la primera opción, no le ha resultado precisamente fácil llegar esta.

If there is a delicate topic to be illustrated is the abortion. From the moment in which I read the article I raised me that the image should be aseptic in sense of not falling in a "abortion yes" or "no abortion", and with complete certainty, that when a pregnant woman takes the first option, sure isn´t a easy option to take.

Una ilustración un tanto experimental-tanto que no hice boceto previo ni tampoco había tiempo de hacerlo- para la portada del extra Salud y Seguridad, publicado por El País el pasado 8 de Abril.

A somewhat experimental illustration so much that I didn´t make previous sketch and there wasn´t enough time to make it. It was a cover published on the newspaper El País the last April 8 for an extra edition about Health and Security.

Un dibujillo realizado durante un par de cafés, para desconectar un poco. Papel mi-teintes Canson gris, lápiz Conté negro HB, Cretacolor negro del 5, Cretacolor blanco del 2 y lápiz Conté blanco.

Klaus Nowak

Hace algunos días terminé de ilustrar Klaus Nowak, limpiador de alcantarillas, de Pedro Mañas Romero, cuyo texto resultó ganador del XXVI Concurso de Narrativa Infantil Vila d´Ibi, y que será publicado por la editorial Anaya dentro de la colección El Duende Verde.
El total de ilustraciones que realicé es de 18, y hubiera hecho otras 18 más , porque es un narración rica en imágenes y atmósferas, de ritmo fluido y rápido, y que es un placer ilustrar. Dejo aquí un avance de tres ilustraciones y sus bocetos, correspondientes a los capítulos 2, 6 y 9, respectivamente.

Some days ago I finished the illustrations for "Klaus Nowak, cleaner of sewers", of Pedro Mañas Romero, which text has been the winner of the XXVI Children Books Contest Vila d'Ibi, and that will be published soon by Anaya publishing house under the collection El Duende Verde (The Green Goblin)
The whole of illustrations that I realized is of 18, and it could be other 18 more, because it is a great narration full of images and atmospheres, of fluid and rapid pace, and that is a pleasure to illustrate.
I leave here an advance of three illustrations and sketches of the chapters 2, 6 and 9, respectively.

Storyboard [15] "Telefónica. Hoy va a ser un gran día" (y II)

Parte II. El Storyboard. Otro de esos storyboards realizados del tirón , creo que 12 horas, viñeta tras viñeta, corregir viñetas, descartar viñetas...el panel definitivo que muestro tiene 32 viñetas, aunque creo que el total fueron cerca de las 50. Me acompañaba en las oficinas de Tesauro Madrid en la edición Marina Palmero a los mandos del ordenador y el escaner, y dirigía la situación Gabe Ibañez desde Buenos Aires, Argentina. Y quien escribe estas líneas , terminó la jornada tomándose unas merecidas jarras de cerveza.

Part II. Storyboard. Another one of these storyboards realized in a same session, I remember about 12 hours, frame after frame, to correct frames, to reject emblems ... the definitive panel that I show has 32 frames, though the whole including rejected ones were near the 50 frames. Marina Palmero was accompanying me in Tesauro Madrid's offices in the edition at the controls of the computer and the scanner, and Gabe Ibañez was directing the situation from Buenos Aires, Argentina. And the one who writes these lines, finished the day with two well deserved pints of beer.

Storyboard [14] "Telefónica. Hoy va a ser un gran día"(I)

Parte I. Conceptos visuales. A partir de aquí se trata de dar forma a la imaginería del anuncio, el concepto general, ambientación y/o momentos que puedan resultar más sugerentes para la elaboración de la historia. El dibujo del camión repleto de montañas de libros fue de lo más entretenido.
Para ello he utilizado un papel gris que me encanta para este tipo de bocetos (similar al que se envuelve el pescado en la pescadería) y que nunca recuerdo su nombre, resistente y barato, además de lápiz Contè y pastel blanco y ocre.
Próximamente, el storyboard y anuncio definitivo.

Part I. Visual concepts. These ones are the images that will give form to the story of the commercial tv spot, the general concept, settings and/or moments that could turn out to be more suggestive for the final production. The drawing of the truck replete with mountains of books was the most entertaining thing.
For it I have used a gray paper that I love for this type of sketches and that I never remember its name , but is resistant and cheaply, besides Contè pencil ,white chalk and ocher one.
Soon the storyboard and final tv commercial.

...y es que al Dr.Castillo, el padre de mi pareja, le gusta la pesca, el baloncesto, los toros, las murallas de Ávila y los crucigramas, entre otras cosas, y aquí he tratado de reflejarlo.
